Timothy Gonzalez is a Brooklyn born photographer, curator, and electronic music composer living in downtown Los Angeles. Additionally, he works as an art consultant in film and owner of CMAI (Center Mark Art Installation).

At the age of 13 his father gifted him a used 35mm Chinon, which changed his view of the world.  Gonzalez photographed everything from architecture to macro life, but one thing commanded his attention, the frenetic energy of street life. The speed of moving cars, tension between towering buildings, but mostly the interaction of people was intoxicating. Living vicariously through someone else’s experience felt natural and exciting. This is when Gonzalez knew his voyeuristic curiosities through documentary photography was his calling.

Years later, after attending School of Visual Arts and Glassel School of Art in the late 90’s, photography brought Tim closer to the Houston art scene. This constant curiosity led him to the politically based Station Museum of Contemporary Art.  As a curator he developed his voice and grew as an artist with the guidance of director James Harithas. The socio-political side emerged in Gonzalez's work. The most ordinary images became unusual artifacts. Street culture, graffiti culture, gay culture all seemed familiar. Prolifically collecting the American contemporary lifestyle through his viewfinder.
